Mono 1.1.7 installer for Windows
You can find the installer here
Comments: Mono 1.1.7 installer for Windows
"Images" GTK# demo crashed on Win2000
SQL# demo also crashed on same configuration.
Thanks for all the work you've done on this. This installer didn't seem to put the gtksharp and related dll's in the gac.
The xsp2 executable is missing!!!
I probably should be more specific. The gtksharp and related dll's don't show up in the gac in Visual Studio on my system. Thanks
is it me, or does the svghelloworld have issues too. Unhandled Exception: System.DllNotFoundException: rsvg-2 in (wrapper managed-to-native) Rsvg.Pixbuf:rsvg_pixbuf_from_file (intptr, intptr&)
Looking forward to getting this and xsp2. Thanks!

Opening sentence of release notes (in installer) doesn't make sense:
"The Mono team we offers the "Preview technologies" in this release."
The monkey icon (used in the top left of the installer and on the tab on the taskbar) is very blocky grey. The large mono logo used at the top right of the installer and on the final page is badly dithered (it looks 4-bit greyscale).
gmcs reports version 1.1.5 - is that correct?
I get a
(
on starting the Gtk# demo (winXP Pro SP2).
i install in winXP sp2 and is ok (good work)
In the "C:\Program Files\Mono-1.1.7\share\doc\xsp\test" folder is missing the "2.0" folder with the samples for new features like masterpages & new controls.....
Thank You very much for all of the testing! You all bring up great points. Some of the cosmetic isues (like the Mono bitmaps that the installer uses) will probably wait for a later release.
Corrected:
- The opening sentence on the ReleaseNotes.
- A new dllmap entry in /etc/mono/config corrected the problems with rsvg-2 missing dll
- I managed to build xsp2 ( a new test for gmcs in the configure.in was keeping it from building)
As far as the Gtk# not being installed in the MS GAC, it is the correct behavior. You may want to look into the Gtk# Win32 Installer for the .NET Framework SDK which does install project templates for Visual Studio .NET 2003 and does perform MS GAC installation of Gtk#
Thank you once more for the great feedback and keep it coming! :)
- mono does not launch is iconv.dll is already in windows directory: ERROR in form of a 'Entry Point Not Found' dialog: libiconv_set_relocation_prefix could not be located in the dynamic link library iconv.dll: solution, if a different version exists in windows folder either nuke it, warn the user, or overwrite it...
- mod-mono-server2 missing
- xsp2 missing
- monodoc: Unhandled Exception: System.DllNotFoundException: gtkembedmoz.dll
All mono examples returns this:
C:\Program Files\Mono-1.1.7\samples\GtkSharp-2.0\mono menu.exe
